Power BI is many things… A cloud and on-premise analytics and reporting service, a rich set of APIs for developing analytics applications, and a powerful desktop application for individual data exploration and analytics solution building. Power BI Desktop allows users to solve the most complex data integration and visualization challenges they face in today’s corporate settings. Power BI Desktop is a constantly evolving product, with monthly updates coming out of Redmond from the innovative Microsoft team.

In this session, we will explore some of the history of the Power BI Desktop application and provide a comprehensive overview of the many new enhancements that have made this product such a powerful analytics tool for end users.

Learning Objectives:
• Understand the difference between Power BI cloud service and Power BI desktop.
• Understand the newest features (as of October, 2017 release) of Power BI Desktop, and how to apply them in their analysis.
• Communicate clearly how Power BI desktop can be used in their own role and throughout their organization.
